Most decentralized storage networks hit a wall as they grow. Walrus uses erasure coding instead of full replication: break a file into pieces, add recovery pieces, and as long as you have enough — any combination — you can rebuild the whole file.
When more nodes join Walrus, the network spreads load more evenly, uses less storage per node, and gets more resilient without piling up duplicates.
