By representing securities as privacy-preserving tokens on the Dusk blockchain, trades can settle atomically — meaning the exchange of payment and security ownership happens simultaneously in a single transaction. This eliminates settlement risk entirely and removes the need for the clearing infrastructure that currently adds cost to every trade.
Regulatory Compliance as a Feature
Dusk's approach to privacy is specifically designed to satisfy financial regulators. Transactions are private by default — counterparty details are not visible on the public chain — but authorized regulators with the appropriate cryptographic keys can access transaction data for compliance purposes. This selective disclosure model satisfies both investor privacy requirements and regulatory oversight mandates simultaneously.
The reimagined stock exchange that Dusk is building is not a hypothetical future state — pilot programs with European financial institutions are already underway, testing tokenized bond issuance and settlement on the network.
